KU is the largest not-for-profit provider of early childhood education and care in
Australia. The first provider of preschool in Australia, dating back to 1895, KU
is a key player in their sector. However, their brand was not well known and
didn’t have presence. Our job was to give KU a brand identity that reflected
their strong values and positioned them as a leader in the Australian sector.
The insight
Children are at the heart of everything that we do, became the idea at the heart
of the new KU brand identity. The language, tone of voice and visual imagery all
had to be driven by this compelling proposition.
The solution
Creating a distinctive brand identity. The logo is made up of building block
shapes with”since 1895” below the letters KU, added to recognise their proud
heritage. We used artwork and paintings created by KU children as visual
elements. The new brand identity was launched in September 2008 with the reopening
of the KU Isobel Pulsford Memorial Preschool.
